Jazz had her FINAL litter

April 7th, 2009

All pups are now sold

No More Pups!

Jazz woke me up about about 3am April 7th. Again she thought she had to go out side. I opened the door and let both Jazz and Kane out, came back in to grab my jacket, slippers and flashlight and by the time I got back outside Jazz had had the first Pup, I snatched it up and brought it back to the house, put it in the welping box and Jazz setteled in. We have four pups and two are spoken for. With only two left you should reserve yours now. Jazz will NOT be having another litter. Pictures will come later but you can see previous litters on the PHOTO album page.

For a gas fee I am willing to meet or deliver.

Finally, pictures of the new babies

They are 4 weeks old now and beginning to be very active.

They play with toys and each other and demand attention from us verbally. As you can see by the pictures they are nibbling on puppy food now. Red decided to take a nap in the dish and wouldn’t budge when blue came for a snack. Blue decided to wait till after nap time and settled in with Happy and Little Girl.

They also now have a potty area and a bedding area. They are doing really well at going to the papered potty area to do thier buisness

Sorry for the delay in pictures but there is a lot going on this spring and my camera batteries will not keep a charge. Every time I grab it the batteries are dead. I charged the batteries and immediately took a bunch of pictures. However, everytime I knelt down to take a picture the pups would run up to me or stop doing what I wanted to take the picture of. Here is what I ended up with.

Pictures taken May 28th 2009

They played all day in the yard today and never had to go to the dog yard. They stay around the house and hang out on the deck when it's too hot to play. I just have to watch for when the horses come up to the fence, the pups are real interested in them.

The two remaining boys both went to the same haome in Woodinville Washington. I think they will be very happy in thier new enviorment. There will be NO more pups as Jazz is schedualed to be spayed June 30th.

My Vet tells me “Dogs are meant to have pups each heat cycle. If they are healthy and bounce back with no problems they should be breed until they show no interest, have health problems or you have just had enough, then you get them fixed. When you skip cycles the dog gets out of shape and has problems.” He also said, “Jazz is doing fine and has healthy pups with no problems, and there is no reason not to breed her.”  I am writing this because I have got emails from people that think I am a puppy mill and believe I am over breeding my dog. The first Standard Poodle I had I skipped one or two heats between each litter and each time she had a harder time with delivery so I got her fixed. I love both Jazz and Kane and would never do anything to put them in jeopardy. I breed because I love puppies and love to share in the joy of a quality standard poodle puppy going to a new home. I feel it is much crueler to own a dog strictly for breeding, Breed it three times and then send it to live with a new family so you can get another breeder, I could never sell my dogs. They are so much my children my daughter calls them her adopted brother and sister and my mom is referred to as Grandma to my dogs and she would have it no other way. For those of you concerned, be assured Jazz and Kane see their Vet regularly and if you have ever seen them you would know they are happy, healthy, well rounded and social animals with a loving home.
